Relationships are complicated.
It is a simple truth.
Sometimes relationships end without warning, and we simply cannot wrap around minds around it.
Things don’t always happen the way we want them to.
We might be on good terms with our exes or not even speak to them for weeks or months at a time.
And then something shifts that make us wonder if they are thinking about us.
Here are 15 signs that indicate your ex is thinking about you and what you should do about it!
1) When you ran into each other, he is happy to see you
If your ex is thinking about you, it will be evident to the people around him.
He will be happy that you ran into each other, and it will still feel natural to talk to each other.
The conversation will feel easy like you are with an old friend.
Depending on the way you feel about him, reach out and show him that you would like to reconnect.
On the other hand, if you are not ready to be with him, don’t encourage the reunion.
2) He asks about you a lot
If your ex gets into conversations about you a lot, he is probably thinking about you more than he is ready to admit.
When it happens too often, it is a good sign that he wants you back.
So, what does this all mean?
Well, your ex probably realized that you are too valuable for him to lose you.
Your friends are probably cheering for you to get back together, so if you are reconsidering it too, make sure you push things in the right direction.
3) He flirts with you
I know flirting and “thinking of you” are two different things.
However, when your ex is thinking about you a lot, he may find himself flirting with you.
This can be a sign that he wants something from you that he cannot get from anyone else.
Now, this does not mean flirting back.
If you want him back, don’t lead on to anything more than friendship right now, give it time.
If you flirt with him, you will be sending the message that you still like him.

If your ex comes to you for advice, there is a high chance that he might be thinking about you.
This is a good sign that he wants to work things out with you.
If he needs advice in regards to his career or other things in his life, tell him what you think and always give him the best advice you can.
The fact that he asks you out of all people means that he trusts you and believes that you could give him the best advice possible.
This shows just how connected, and close to you he really feels.
5) He calls you often
If your ex calls you often, and it isn’t to catch up on things, there is a good chance that he might be thinking about you.
If he calls to ask you out or if he calls during times when you never used to talk before, it means he has missed your relationship and can’t live without you.
Tell him that you miss him too and that you wish you could talk to him more often.
6) He gives you a late-night call
When your ex calls you late at night, this means that he can’t stop thinking about you.
This is a sign that he wants to work things out with you, and if given the right opportunity, he will definitely take action.
If you want to try something new, give him a phone call and tell him that you just thought of him and felt like hearing his voice.
The night is the perfect time for ex-lovers to pick up where they left off, so take advantage of it.
7) He asks about your life
If your ex asks about your life, he wants to know what is going on in your life because he misses his best friend (you).
If you want to test him out and see if he is really into you, ask him a few things the two of you used to talk about in the past or tell him something that is bothering you right now.
If he truly misses talking to you, he will be more than happy to answer all of your questions and help you out with your problems.
8) He wants to make amends
If your ex is asking for another chance, this means that he wants to make things right with you.
If you have broken up with him, don’t be too quick to jump back into the relationship.
It is up to you to decide what you want to do in life.
Take some time to understand your feelings better, and you will be able to see if your decision to break up was the right one.
9) He doesn’t want to lose you again
If your ex is thinking about you, he knows that he wants to be with you.
This means that he does not want to lose his best friend (you) again.
Take it slow, and don’t rush things.
If you are ready to be with him, tell him how you feel about him, but take your time and make sure you really mean it when you say it.
In the meantime, he will try to make sure that you don’t leave him.
He would want to be with you because he knows how much you mean to him, and he doesn’t want to go another day without seeing you.
10) He is being too nice
If your ex is being too nice, it means that there is a lot more going on than he wants people to know about.
He wants people to think that everything is perfect between the two of you, but in reality, there might be trouble in paradise.
This can usually be seen through his behavior.
If he is being too nice and going overboard in trying to make you happy, it probably means that you still mean a lot to him.
However, if he is being too cold and distant even though you are right there next to him, then this could mean that he doesn’t want to be with you anymore or that he is simply confused about his next step.

If your ex is being too mean, it shows that he is probably still angry about what happened between the two of you.

Show him that this kind of behavior is not acceptable, so he will probably change his tune soon.

If your ex is checking up on you, he wants to make sure that everything is alright between the two of you.
It’s possible that he has felt bad and wants to make sure that everything is okay before he can talk to you.
Give him a call and tell him how you are doing, so this way he will know that everything is okay.
It is human to make mistakes, it is just important to correct that mistake when we realize it.
If your ex admits that he could do things better and is making an effort to show you just how much he cares, give him a chance.
Forgive him and show him that you appreciate the effort he is making.
If there are still strong emotions between you two, you can always make things right again and nurture your love.
13) He is not giving up on you
If your ex is still thinking about you, don’t be too quick to brush him off.
He might not want to give up on you again, so he will try his very best in order to win you back.
In the end, if you are interested and ready for a new relationship, tell him that he is one of the most important people in your life and that you would rather be with him than anyone else.
However, if you feel you could make things right this time, think about it, and perhaps you will know what you need to do to create a loving relationship that will last.
14) He sends flowers
When your ex sends you flowers, he is probably thinking about you.
Flowers are an obvious sign of affection, which is why exes start sending bouquets of flowers when they are together again.
So, what does this mean?
Well, if he is thinking about you, he wants to work things out with you.
However, don’t start talking about getting back together with him yet.
Let him do the work.

This is the perfect time to tell him that you will give it another chance.

If your ex starts showing that he truly cares about you and doesn’t want to let you go, and you feel the same way, give him a chance.
If you want to get back together, but this time in a happier, more committed relationship, it’s simple:
Rewrite the story of your relationship.
Show him that this time around, things will be different. Change the way he sees you and allow him to picture a brand new relationship with you.
