So the useful question is not “is porn destroying your brain.” It is closer to this: what do researchers actually observe, what remains genuinely unknown, and how does a person think clearly about a topic engineered to bypass thinking?

Stories in this genre often trace back to a single interview, lecture, or review article, then get stripped of nuance as they travel. A researcher says something measured about reward systems, and by the third re-share it has become a proclamation about ruin.
The mechanism matters more than any one claim. Content that provokes a strong reaction spreads further, so nuanced findings get compressed into their most dramatic possible shape.
The result is a familiar shape: an authority figure, a charged topic, and a promise of hidden harm. None of that tells anyone whether the underlying science is solid.
