11 incredible traits of people who never give up

How do you view life?

Some people think that whatever happens in their lives is out of their control. They passively wait for life to happen to them.

They don’t usually have goals and they simply flow wherever the wind takes them.

However, other people, realize that life is about constantly learning and growing.

These people proactively try their best in every situation and never give up.

They have a growth mindset and they’re always learning.

As you may have guessed, it’s usually the second type of people that find success in life.

So what is it that makes the second type of people never give up and always try their best?

What traits do they possess?

In this article, we’re going to go through 11 important traits of people who never give up:

1. They learn from failure

“The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” ― Ralph Waldo Emerson

One of the first traits of people who never give up is that they learn from their failures.

They’re not afraid to make mistakes because they see it as an opportunity to learn.

After all, failure is a blessing because it means they’re one step closer to success.

Even the most successful people in history have failed many times before they made their mark.

For example, Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before he invented the light bulb.

And as Arnold Schwarzenegger once said: “Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”

2. They’re persistent

“Never lose hope. Storms make people stronger and never last forever.” – Roy T. Bennett

Most people don’t get any closer to achieving their goals because they lack persistence. They give up the moment they face difficulty.

If you want to never give up, you need mental toughness and the ability to push forward even when everyone around you is telling you not to.

This is what I’ve learned from my experience because of the fact that I faced many failures in the past.

Every time I failed, I asked myself why did I fail and what can I do to not make the same mistake again?

As a result, today, when I face difficulties, it helps me stay motivated to continue the journey.

This way, obstacles become stepping stones instead of stumbling blocks that stop you from achieving your goals.

3. They believe in their potential

People who don’t give up until they reach their goal do so because they have self-belief. They know that no matter how many hurdles they encounter, they’re going to shake themselves off and get right back on track.

So how can you do the same?

How can you dig deep and find the self-belief you deserve to have?

The most effective way is to tap into your personal power.

You see, we all have an incredible amount of power and potential within us, but most of us never tap into it. We become bogged down in self-doubt and limiting beliefs. We stop doing what brings us true happiness.

I learned this from the shaman Rudá Iandê. He’s helped thousands of people align work, family, spirituality, and love so they can unlock the door to their personal power.

He has a unique approach that combines traditional ancient shamanic techniques with a modern-day twist. It’s an approach that uses nothing but your own inner strength – no gimmicks or fake claims of empowerment.

Because true empowerment needs to come from within.

In his excellent free video, Rudá explains how you can create the life you’ve always dreamed of, and it’s easier than you might think.

4. They’re determined to succeed

“Fall seven times, stand up eight.” – Japanese Proverb

A Chinese proverb says that “a single spark can start a prairie fire”.

When it comes to people who never give up, I’ve learned that they all have one thing in common: being incredibly determined. This trait often leads to success.

It means you’ll never give up because you’re convinced that your goal is possible.

It’s one of the most important traits of people who never give up.

When I was a kid, my dad used to tell me “there is no such thing as failure. Only learning opportunities”.

He made me believe that failure is a negative word and that I should train myself to see failure as an opportunity to new learn something new.

As a result, I never give up when I’m doing difficult things and this has helped me build my self-confidence over time.

Some people believe that they don’t have what it takes to succeed. Not only are they scared of failure, but they feel like success is impossible for them.

They constantly think “I’m not good enough” or “This is just not for me”.

They’ve learned that failure is a bad thing and they need to avoid it at all costs.

However, this is the wrong way of thinking because it pushes you to give up when you face any difficulty.

And we’re all going to face difficulties on the journey to achieve success.

That’s why it’s imperative that you change the way you think about failure. It’s not a bad thing. It’s actually a learning opportunity.

5. They set small and manageable goals

If you want to never give up and be successful in life, your goal needs to be small and manageable.

For example, if you want to learn a new language, set a goal of learning 10 new words a day.

It’s a manageable goal, and if you stick at it, then in a little over three months, you’ll know 1000 words in that language.

That’s what people who never give up do. They consistently reach small and manageable goals.

This not only keeps them motivated by achieving small goals every day, but they’re able to eventually achieve something that’s really special.

It’s just about being consistent and improving little by little.

James Clear says it best:

“Meanwhile, improving by 1 percent isn’t particularly notable—sometimes it isn’t even noticeable—but it can be far more meaningful, especially in the long run. The difference a tiny improvement can make over time is astounding. Here’s how the math works out: if you can get 1 percent better each day for one year, you’ll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you’re done. Conversely, if you get 1 percent worse each day for one year, you’ll decline nearly down to zero. What starts as a small win or a minor setback accumulates into something much more.”

6. They’ve learned to make good decisions by trusting their judgment

“Trust your instincts, and make judgments on what your heart tells you. The heart will not betray you.” – David Gemmell

I’ve learned that the key to success is making good decisions in the present moment.

And one of the main factors that determine whether you make good or bad decisions is your ability to learn from your mistakes and having confidence in your intuition.

As we’ve mentioned, learning from your mistakes is the most important trait in people who never give up.

People who never give up have a strong belief in themself and they’re always willing to learn from their mistakes.

They don’t get down on themselves for their mistakes. Instead, they back themselves to learn from it and grow.

They know that next time they’ll be able to make a good decision in the present moment because they learned from what happened the last time.

This confidence in themselves also allows them to trust their own gut feeling.

Successful people know that their gut feeling is there to guide you, just like your own personal GPS.

Furthermore, they try new things and they experiment with different approaches and fail because they don’t take no for an answer.

This has helped them build up a lot of information throughout the years about what works and what doesn’t.

This is why they’re able to make good decisions because they’ve encountered similar situations in the past.

7. They’re all about action

People who never give up are all about action, not just talk. They constantly execute and they achieve their goals step by step.

When it comes to being determined and persevering, they have a strong belief in themselves that helps them push forward even when everyone else around them is telling them it’s impossible.

And when it comes to setting small and manageable goals, they know that they just need to take action to achieve them every day and they’ll be getting closer to their long-term goals.

They know that you can do all the planning in the world, but what really matters is that you actually take action to achieve your goals.

After all, how can you reach your goals if you don’t take any action?

8. They are optimistic about the future

“Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create.” – Roy T. Bennett

It’s the optimism that you have in the future that helps you realize your goals and most importantly, never give up.

It’s the hope that there’s something better out there for you that allows you to keep moving forward when everyone is telling you not to.

With optimism, you’ll always have the energy to keep going and never give up.

9. They are able to motivate themselves

“Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.” – Christopher Reeve

When it comes to people who never give up, the most important thing is that they’re able to motivate themselves.

They learn how to keep their energy levels high when their motivation tends to decrease.

It’s the ability to motivate yourself that helps you take action and never give up on your goals.

After all, it’s not the outcomes that matter when you’re doing something difficult; it’s the effort and time you invest in completing your goal which is what really matters.

“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” -Napoleon Hill

10. They know how to be ruthless with their time

When it comes to people who never give up, one of the main factors that separate them from those who give up is their ability to be ruthless with their time.

They know how to manage their time and they know when they need to focus on something and when they need to delegate.

If they try to do too much, they know they could burn out and they’ll have no choice but to give up.

They know how to invest their time into what’s important and they are willing to say no to things that are not.

As a result, they’re able to do the things that really matter in their life because they don’t waste their time.

We all get the same amount of time, but people who don’t give up won’t give up their time on things that don’t move them forward.

11. They stay away from toxic people

“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” – Jim Rohn

One of the reasons why people quit is because they surround themselves with toxic people.

These are the people that hold you back, don’t make you feel good about yourself, and constantly discourage you from being successful.

If you want to never give up, then it’s important that you stay away from these kinds of people.

If you want to never give up then I encourage to reflect on some of these qualities and try to incorporate them into your life. Do not be a “yes person” with your life. Be willing to say no when needed and don’t feel bad about it.
