The Law of Attraction is a powerful tool in helping you get what you want in life.

Do you want to know how it’s possible to think things into existence?

It’s easier than you think if you master the laws of the Universe – here are 10 ways.

1) Clearly state what you want and focus on the feeling

The Law of Attraction is built on the premise that like-attracts-like.

It’s all about the idea that where your attention goes, your energy flows.

Simply put, as world renowned motivational speaker Tony Robbins says:

“To get what you really want in life, you need a clear goal that has purpose and meaning behind it. Once this is in place, you can focus your energy on the goal and become obsessive about it. When you learn how to focus your energy, amazing things happen.”

This forms the basic premise of the Law of Attraction, celebrated by many famous people including actors Jim Carrey and Will Smith, and talk show host Oprah Winfrey.

I don’t know about you, but in my opinion these people have done something right to get to where they are.

They’ve all got behind the idea that it’s essential to focus and embody the feeling of what you want in order to think it into existence.

For example, long before he had any taste of success, Jim Carrey would drive up to Mullholland drive and spend every single evening imagining Hollywood directors talking to him and telling him how much they loved his work.

He would embody the feeling and revel in the experience.

He even wrote himself a check for 10 million dollars, dated three years forward.

Can you guess what happened? He received this check three years on and had Hollywood directors at his feet.

It’s an amazing example of the Law of Attraction and the power of focusing on the feeling you want from situations.

What’s important to take note of in the situations of these famous folk is that they knew what it was they wanted in order to put their focus in the right place.

Start with asking yourself:

  • Do I know where I want to go?
  • Why do I want to achieve this?
  • What will it feel like when I achieve this?

Getting clarity on your hopes and dreams is the first step. Once you’ve decided what you want to do and put the feeling behind it, the Universe will take care of the rest.

As Will Smith says:

“Make a choice. Just decide. What it’s gonna be, who you’re gonna be, how you’re gonna do it. Then, from that point, the Universe will get out of your way.”

I love this quote for how empowering it is.

It’s a simple formula: hold the vision in your mind’s-eye, speak it outloud and think about how you’ll feel when you’re in that position.

2) Only speak about what you want

How to be happy 5 unconventional life lessons 10 ways to speak things into existence with the law of attraction

I’ve expressed the importance of getting really intentional about what you want, bringing it to life and focusing all of your energy on this.

This is the core essence of the Law of Attraction.

Remember, where your attention goes, your energy flows.

With this in mind, it’s just as important to not focus on what you don’t want.

You’re going against what you want to achieve by fixating on what you don’t want and literally attracting more of that into your life.

Many people in the West are in jobs they hate, in relationships they’re unhappy with and feel unfulfilled with life.

In my experience, these people often complain extensively about how much they despise all of these things.

They’ll repeat statements that express this hatred, unaware that they’re literally affirming this reality and attracting more of what they don’t want.

I can think of someone who hates their line of work and they express it almost on a daily basis.

They often make statements like: ‘I am tired’ and ‘I hate my job’.

Guess what? Nothing changes.

If they understood how the Law of Attraction worked they would stay so far away from these statements.

Using the Law of Attraction you can call in what you really want, so steer clear of repeating all of the things you don’t want in your life.

As I said earlier, it’s important to get clear and intention to start manifesting the life you want, so don’t spend time repeating ‘ I don’t know what I want to do’ as you’ll stay stuck in this place of not knowing.

If you tell the Universe that, it will literally say: ‘yep, you don’t know what you want to do’.

You’ll stay stuck in this echo chamber.

Best-selling author and American pastor Joel Osteen famously said:

“Whatever follows I am will come looking for you.”

It is exactly this premise I’m talking about, so use your words carefully. For example, you could journal and repeat out loud statement like:

  • I am amazing at attracting great work opportunities every day
  • I am so good at earning money
  • I am able to attract love into my life easily
  • I am surrounded by loving friends

These are just some generic thoughts to get you started, but you can tailor these to your specific circumstances to make them all the more powerful.

What’s so cool is that you get to decide what the limit is. You get to decide if you’re the best in your industry and if you’re so sought-after; if you’re known and respected by 10 or 10,000 people, and the variety of things you’re good at.

You can wear many hats and do many things.

So what can you do to get really intentional about where it is you’re going in life?

Begin with yourself. Stop searching for external fixes to sort out your life, deep down, you know this isn’t working.

And that’s because until you look within and unleash your personal power, you’ll never find the satisfaction and fulfillment you’re searching for.

I learned this from the shaman Rudá Iandê. His life mission is to help people restore balance to their lives and unlock their creativity and potential. He has an incredible approach that combines ancient shamanic techniques with a modern-day twist.

In his excellent free video, Rudá explains effective methods to get clarity on the direction of your life, living in alignment with your purpose.

3) Tell the Universe your plans

OK, so there’s something to say for the magic of the unknown and unexpected twists and turns of life.

I totally agree with this. However, at the same time, we need to be intentional about where we’re going, otherwise we’re just going to coast along, a little directionless and suddenly think: ‘wait, where did five years go?’

This is the worst case scenario you want to avoid, and one you can by getting clear on your goals.

By goal-setting and visualizing you’re also not going to lose the unexpectedness of life as these are inevitable, but you’re going to have an idea of what it is you want to achieve.

For example, Jim Carrey didn’t just become a Hollywood actor by accident. In fact, very few Hollywood actors do.

Everything is created with intention.

He thought about where he wanted to go and handed that over to the universe.

Make a list of the things you want to do – and don’t talk yourself out of it when it comes to logistics. The hard work is all part of the process.

If you let your mind run wild and don’t hold back on being true to your dreams, what do you really want from life? What would you love to be doing?

Hold this end goal in mind, but take a step back and start to break it down into smaller goals so it becomes a manageable plan.

Why take this approach? Well, as Lachan Brown explains for Nomadrs:

“To-do lists or numbered step-by-step lists turn the mess of a huge, sprawling, endlessly gigantic dream into a process partitioned into hundreds if not thousands of smaller steps, each with their own smaller yet infinitely more achievable beginnings, middles, and ends.”

Speak your plans into existence by writing it down and talking it aloud. You could speak to yourself in your bedroom or tell someone else, what’s most important is that you give your plan a voice and make it a reality.

Speaking it aloud literally gives it power.

Absolutely go ahead and say: “I’m going to be up on the stage supporting Britney one day” if that’s your goal, but break it down and think about how you need to get there.

4) Speak into the mirror

We often look into mirrors to fix our hair and to check out how we look – sometimes being overly critical and harsh on ourselves.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve gone through phases where I’ve only seen the things I don’t like about myself when I’ve caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror.

But did you know that we can use mirrors to empower ourselves?

Now: I don’t only mean looking in the mirror and thinking we look good (although I do encourage that), but talking to ourselves.

I’m talking about giving yourself a pep talk in the mirror.

How to go about this?

Well, first of all, give your mirror a wipe down, stand in front of it and look at yourself directly in the eyes.

It will feel really weird initially, but just remember you’re looking at yourself and there’s nothing to be weirded out about.

Once here, use this opportunity to tell yourself how great you are and how you’re such a great achiever.

Talk about the things you want to achieve in the present tense, as though you’ve already got these things. Remember to put the feeling behind it.

For example, you could say things like: ‘it’s awesome that you won that Golden Globe! Your performance was epic’.

Abundance No Limits explains is big on the benefits of mirror work. They explain:

“Mirror work is a perfect method to raise your self-esteem and confidence. Often you have trouble manifesting because you don’t feel you deserve to have it.”

This is a powerful thought to come to terms with to help you on your journey to speaking what you want into existence.

5) Believe in what you’re saying

So you’ve clearly stated what it is you want to manifest in your life, you’ve told the Universe your plans and you’ve thought about the feeling the accomplishment has given you.

This could be:

  • Feeling ecstatic and jumping for joy
  • Feeling overjoyed and hugging a loved one
  • Crying with happiness

But I have something else to ask you: do you truly believe what you want is going to happen for you?

Like, do you actually believe it’s going to happen? Or is there a voice in your head saying: ‘yeah, yeah, dream on, buddy’.

Because if it is, you’re not going to be able to think what you want into existence.

Belief and confidence in yourself is an essential step in creating your reality. Without it, you’re not getting close to your intention! So many people block themselves at this step when it’s so easy to unblock with mindset work.

In my experience, there have been times I’ve worked with and against the Law of Attraction. I know that when I didn’t truly believe in what I was manifesting, nothing came of my intention. On the other hand, when I totally believed it was possible I’ve achieved my goal.

For example, I’ve never had any doubt that I’m lucky in love and I’ve easily met partners who have added great value to my life. I’ve never been in a relationship with someone who mistreats me, and I’ve always had incredibly fulfilling relationships for the time periods they were supposed to be in my life. I’ve never used apps and I’ve always organically met awesome people when I’ve been open to it.

What’s key is that I totally believe it’s easy to find romantic love. I believe that I am a great partner and the right person will gravitate towards me for the time they’re supposed to be in my life. For some reason, I’ve never had any doubt about this and so this has been my reality.

Will Smith famously said:

“I believe I can create whatever I want to create.”

It sounds so simple, but this is it: the Law of Attraction is simple!

It probably gets so much stick from people who don’t take the time to understand it because it is such a basic formula. People surely think: ‘how can that possibly work?’, but take it from the celebrities who have created their lives using it and my personal anecdote.

As Lachan Brown writes for Nomadrs, the Universe responds when it is asked to respond.

You can use the Law of Attraction today to call in what you want. What do you want to ask it for?

6) Ignore the naysayers

unhappy 1 10 ways to speak things into existence with the law of attraction

By now, you know my stance on the Law of Attraction.

My belief in the belief system is from hearing of others’ success stories and knowing it’s worked for me when I’ve used it properly.

As I say above, one reason people snub it is because it’s such a simple premise.

Surely people think: but how can something that simple work? If it was that easy, then wouldn’t we all do it?

The thing is, people don’t try because they’re put off by what the idea stands for.

Some people dismiss anything New Age because they just don’t get it when there’s suffering all around the world. Often people think: did those people who have suffered floods and poverty ask for this? Did they manifest this reality?

It highlights that New Age thinking is a very Western concept. But it’s not one you should feel bad about having access to. Feeling bad about your privilege and ability to design your own reality isn’t going to help anyone else. However, working towards your goals and wanting to contribute something to others will.

Incredibly successful people in the world, like Tony Robbins, have been able to give so much to communities nearby and cultures afar that have needed support.

For example, all of the profits made from his books have gone to charity. He’s been able to provide 500 million meals to American families in need and he has the goal of feeding one billion by 2025.

If he hadn’t used the Law of Attraction to follow his passion and goals, and to reach financial success, he wouldn’t be able to do any of this.

So don’t fall into the trap of thinking the Law of Attraction is rubbish and doesn’t make sense as a universal concept.

Using the Law of Attraction, you can design a better life for yourself, those around you and the wider community and world.

Now: I’m going to tell you a story from my perspective about how I’ve seen the Law of Attraction work for someone around me.

From nothing, I’ve watched my mum build a business from scratch and manifest an incredible team, and incredible clients and projects.

She’s a big believer in the Law of Attraction and writing down her visions.

She wrote down that she would have an elegant team of women who were dynamic, smart and creative. At the time, it was just her running the shop with her now ex-husband, and she hadn’t met any of these women.

She literally wrote down what their personalities would be like and how they’d have so much enthusiasm for what she’s doing.

Can you guess what happened?

My mum now has a team of almost 10 women who epitomize everything she could’ve imagined and more.

In addition to this, she wrote down the sort of projects she’d like to be working on and the people she’d like to be helping. She got super clear and, yep, you guessed it, the clarity and belief paid off.

I’ve seen her work her socks off and struggle through the hard times, but what’s kept her going is her unbelievable ability to manifest. It’s shown her that it’s all possible if you get clear and just believe.

She has all of her affirmations written down and she revisits them every day. I can’t recommend it enough!

7) Watch the things you say when things don’t go to plan

Wouldn’t life just be peachy if everything went to plan, every time? Would you want a world where there were no hiccups along the road and things just worked out immediately?

What do you reckon?

Personally, I think life would be a little dull. Without challenge, we wouldn’t have the fire we need to forge on and make our goals happen.

It’s inevitable that there will be some hoops to jump through and hurdles to jump over along your road to achieving your goal, but don’t let these knock you down and discourage you.

Use them as ammunition to fire you up to achieve your goal like your life depends on it.

During these times you will be knocked down, don’t fall into the negativity trap.

Remember, the Law of Attraction doesn’t switch off so you need to be mindful about what you’re saying and affirming all of the time.

Statements like: ‘I am a failure’ will only cause that to become your reality.

Watch what you say when knockbacks come.

Lachan Brown offers some great advice:

“To truly manifest your dreams and channel your intent to the universe, you need to be consistent and steadfast in your desire to make your dreams happen, especially when things are rough.”

What does this mean for you?

It’s key that you stay strong in your conviction and consistent when the waters are choppy.

Go back to your affirmations and focus on all of the wonderful traits about you, and how easy it is to attract what you want in life.

8) Meditate with mantras

In addition to the naysayers that might try and take you down a peg or two, you’ll find that you’ll probably have a negative voice cropping up in your head telling you it’s not possible.

But this doesn’t have to be your reality – you have the power to acknowledge it but to ultimately override it and wave it off.

Enter working with the breath and mantras during meditation.

But I get it, breathwork can be hard because it stirs up emotions, especially if you’ve been suppressing them for some time.

If that’s the case, I highly recommend watching this free breathwork video, created by the shaman, Rudá Iandê.

Rudá isn’t another self-professed life coach. Through shamanism and his own life journey, he’s created a modern-day twist to ancient healing techniques.

The exercises in his invigorating video combine years of breathwork experience and ancient shamanic beliefs, designed to help you relax and check in with your body and soul.

After many years of suppressing my emotions, Rudá’s dynamic breathwork flow quite literally revived that connection.

And that’s what you need:

A spark to reconnect you with your feelings so that you can begin focusing on the most important relationship of all – the one you have with yourself.

So if you’re ready to say goodbye to anxiety and stress, check out his genuine advice below.

9) Persist with affirmations

So we’ve established the power of words.

As Sigmund Freud said:

“Words have a magical power. They can either bring the greatest happiness or the deepest despair.”

Once you’re aware of the power of words and you know how to use them to your advantage, make it a daily habit.

Get your affirmations down and get into a regular habit of repeating them to really see and feel the benefits.

There are numerous ways you can go about reminding yourself of your intentions, consider:

  • Setting a reminder on your phone
  • Sticking post-it notes around
  • Get it made into a print and hang it on the wall

Find what works for you and stick at the process of repeating these supportive and empowering mantras – even when things don’t go to plan.

Just like anything in life, persistence and consistency is key.

10) Shout your intentions from the rooftops

jumpstory download20220711 155425 1 10 ways to speak things into existence with the law of attraction

This last one is a must-do to feel really empowered.

If you’re in a city, climb up to the rooftops; if you’re in nature get out into the woods and belt out your intention.

One person might hear it, 50 might, or no one will.

What matters is you’re owning your power and you’re strong in your intention and you want everyone to know about it.

Abundance No Limits explains:

“When you speak out loud, you are adding an extra element to the goal. With this, you are raising your positive energy as well as making your intention about the goal clear to yourself and the Universe.”

Shout your dreams into existence – and do it like you really mean it.

Good luck on your manifestation journeys!
