13 signs you’re someone with a deep soul

When I think of a “deep soul,” these three things come to mind: Peace. Authenticity. Purpose.

Someone who’s not afraid to express who they really are, who loves and accepts themselves thoroughly.

Someone with a one-of-a-kind aura, an intriguing quality that draws you in and makes you feel at ease.

Someone who goes through life with such grace and thoughtfulness.

I believe that on some level, we are all deep souls with the capacity to make an impact in ways we couldn’t imagine.

In this article, we’ll talk about the signs that show you’re someone with a deep soul. Learn about how these traits can help you understand yourself more clearly.

1) You enjoy spending time alone

For you, there’s nothing quite like the bliss of purposeful solitude. You have no problem flying solo — whether it’s reading a book, taking yourself out for coffee, or trying something new.

No matter how hectic your schedule gets, you’ll think of ways to incorporate “Me time” into your day.

That’s because you know how important it is to check in with yourself.

You maximize opportunities to be alone with no distractions. It helps you revitalize your mind and body and make sense of your decisions and behaviors.

2) You’re self-aware

Think about this for a minute: How self-aware are you?

As a person with a deep soul, you accept yourself for who you are and who you are not.

In other words, you’re in tune with yourself. You recognize your strengths, weaknesses, personality, and more.

You understand your feelings, your tendencies, and how your behavior affects others.

Best of all, you believe in your ability to better yourself and create the life you want.

This brings me to my next point….

3) You’re introspective

Do you keep a gratitude journal? Do you write with deep intention and reflection, and answer questions like “What did I learn today?” or “How can I do better next time?”

If so, then you may be someone with a deep soul. In today’s always-on world, you set aside even just a few minutes of your day for self-examination.

You make it a point to look inward, carefully assessing your thoughts, emotions, goals, and motivations. It’s how you gain valuable insights into areas for improvement and growth.

4) You contemplate life’s biggest questions

Has someone ever told you that you seem wise beyond your years because you never stop asking big questions that fill you with wonder?

If you find yourself lost in thought about topics that are central to a well-lived life, then you’re someone with a deep soul. You ponder questions like ….

  • Why am I here?
  • Am I truly happy?
  • What makes me come alive?
  • Where do I want to be?
  • How can I leave a lasting legacy?

5) You have an unconventional approach to life

In other words: You live life on your own terms.

If you see something in yourself and the world that many others don’t, you keep at it. You’re not afraid to be different.

You understand that everyone is on a unique journey and that we’re called to follow our own path. You believe that just because it hasn’t been done before doesn’t mean it can’t be done.

You inspire people around you because you challenge the status quo. You stay true to your authentic self, even if it’s an unpopular choice.

6) You stay present

Simply put: You savor every moment.

You live for the experience of whatever is true at the moment. Whether it’s happiness, sadness, wonder, or pain, you feel these emotions vividly.

You appreciate ordinary, simple experiences. You feel most at peace when you harness the power of the here and now — not getting too caught up in the past and the future.

And it doesn’t stop there: You believe in your ability to handle the situation at hand, without fear, hesitation, or worry.

7) You’re creative

If you’re a deep soul, creativity enriches your life. You do things that bring you pure joy, things that enable you to explore the depths of the human experience.

You express yourself through art, music, writing, building, and more. You come up with endless original ideas and find ways to bring them to life.

For you, it’s not about the outcome, it’s more about the value of creating in and of itself.

You aim to push boundaries and figure out innovative ways to approach the world

8) You embrace nature

You’re all about reconnecting with nature. You intentionally seek inspiration in the greens.

You go a step further when it comes to spending time in nature — from laying in the grass at a nearby park to running on the beach, hiking, and more.

You take in the breathtaking scenery and observe everything around you — the warmth of the sun, the wind on your skin, the movement of the trees, and the song of the birds.

You gain a deeper perspective on life when you allow yourself to feel in awe of something much bigger than you.

9) You follow your inner voice

Over the years, you’ve learned to listen to, respect, and trust your intuition — that inner voice steering you in the right direction.

Sure, you know how to reach out for support from other people. But you’ve realized that sometimes, the only person you can count on is yourself.

You pay attention to your body’s signals telling you if something’s not quite right.

When you find yourself feeling unsettled or uneasy, you give yourself the space you need to hear your truth and make the right decisions.

10) You’re curious

You are a deeply curious being. You thirst for knowledge and you believe that the world is full of possibilities.

You’re attracted to new people, new things, and new experiences. You’re open to letting go of outdated beliefs and assumptions, and you’re open to new ways of viewing things.

You’re not afraid of uncertainty, and you’re often willing to break out of your normal routine.

You’ve got a strong sense of exploration that pushes you to get out of your comfort zone. You see life as a quest to discover and grow.

11) You’re a good listener

This one’s connected to my earlier point about how curiosity is a hallmark of a person with a deep soul.

People like you who have deep souls are active listeners. When talking to people, you pay attention to all the verbal and non-verbal cues.

You enjoy hearing other people’s stories — their interests, hobbies, and passions in life.

You remain open to what the other person is saying without judging or reacting. People love spending time with you because you give them space to express themselves.

12) You’re empathetic

You forge meaningful relationships because you have a strong sense of empathy — the ability to get into another person’s world and connect with them compassionately.

It’s more than just being in another person’s shoes. It’s about being vulnerable and validating the other person’s feelings and experiences.

As someone with a deep soul, you’re concerned about how you can uplift other people.

You break barriers by paying more attention to what people have in common, instead of what makes us different.

13) You’re driven by a sense of purpose

Here’s a thought to ponder: Are you living with a clear sense of purpose?

If you’re someone with a deep soul, you find a deeper meaning in everything you do.

Knowing your ‘why’ keeps you happy, fulfilled, and hopeful.

When you have a higher purpose, you get clear about what you want and why you want it. This motivates you to clearly define your goals and work on achieving them.

This higher purpose empowers you to overcome any setbacks with grit and determination.

You know that finding your purpose is a lifelong process, but you believe in your ability to create a life that feels good from the inside out.
