Some people are like open books. You know immediately what they are thinking by just looking at them.
Are you one of them? Or are you the one people always try to figure out?
Here are 10 signs you are hard to read and why that is a good thing!
1) You are often misunderstood
The first sign of being hard to read is that you are often misunderstood.
When you are hard to read, it means that you are not always being clear.
This can be a problem for both you and the people around you.
You may find it difficult to communicate with people sometimes because, for some reason, they don’t seem to get you.
The reason this happens is that other people can’t seem to gauge where they stand with you or what you mean with the things you say.
Other people may also misinterpret your actions and words.
You may have been joking, but they thought you were serious. Or maybe you were just trying to be nice, but they took it the wrong way.
You can’t always control what other people think of you, but if you are hard to read, there’s a good chance that they are misinterpreting you.
2) You can be direct without being mean
Another sign of being hard to read is when you can be direct with people without being mean.
Some people are very direct with people, but they aren’t always nice about it.
They may think that being direct is the same as being honest, but it’s not.
Being direct can be helpful because it saves time and avoids misunderstandings.
But sometimes you can be too direct and hurt someone’s feelings in the process.
That’s not the case with you, however. You can be direct without being mean.
Sometimes, that throws people off. They can tell you are being genuine, but in today’s world, this genuineness can be hard to read.
You can tell that people don’t always know what to make of you. They aren’t sure if you are being genuine or just pretending.
But that’s okay, you know your truth.
3) You are not needy
Another sign of being hard to read is that you are not needy.
You don’t need validation from other people to feel good about yourself.
In fact, you are confident enough in yourself that you don’t have to rely on other people to make you feel good.
And that’s a good thing.
If you aren’t needy, then it can be hard to read you because you aren’t always asking for reassurance from other people like most others do.
This can throw people off because they usually feel more secure when they detect that someone else is needy and insecure.
You, however, don’t need their validation so they don’t know what to make of you!
So what can you do to become less needy, if you are?
Begin with yourself. Stop searching for external fixes to sort out your life, deep down, you know this isn’t working.
And that’s because until you look within and unleash your personal power, you’ll never find the satisfaction and fulfillment you’re searching for.
I learned this from the shaman Rudá Iandê. His life mission is to help people restore balance to their lives and unlock their creativity and potential. He has an incredible approach that combines ancient shamanic techniques with a modern-day twist.
In his excellent free video, Rudá explains effective methods to achieve what you want in life and gain the confidence you need from within.
So if you want to build a better relationship with yourself, unlock your endless potential, and put passion at the heart of everything you do, start now by checking out his genuine advice.

4) You are always willing to give advice
The next sign that you are hard to read is that you’re not shy about giving advice or giving your opinion on things.
This can often be a good thing because it shows that you are open to helping other people.
But sometimes, giving your honest opinion on everything can make people feel insecure.
Your opinions and advice can seem threatening to them, and it can be hard to read what you’re thinking.
You are not afraid to speak up and let others know what you think. That’s a good thing!
But it also means that people might not always understand what you’re trying to say or do.
It can be hard for others to read your mind because they don’t really know how much power you have over them.
5) You know what you want and you don’t need anyone else to tell you
People often think that they need someone else to tell them what to do.
But this is not the case for you if you are hard to read.
You know what you want and you don’t need anyone else to help guide you.
This is a great thing because it allows you to take control of your life and your business.
By being hard to read, you can focus on what you want and move forward without feeling weighed down by someone else’s opinion or guidance.
You can be your own boss and make your own decisions and that responsibility doesn’t faze you in the slightest.
But I get it, not letting this responsibility get to you can be hard, especially when everyone else puts you under pressure.
If that’s the case, I highly recommend watching this free breathwork video, created by the shaman, Rudá Iandê.
Rudá isn’t another self-professed life coach. Through shamanism and his own life journey, he’s created a modern-day twist to ancient healing techniques.
The exercises in his invigorating video combine years of breathwork experience and ancient shamanic beliefs, designed to help you relax and check in with your body and soul.
After many years of suppressing my emotions, Rudá’s dynamic breathwork flow quite literally revived that connection.
And that’s what you need:
A spark to reconnect you with your feelings so that you can begin focusing on the most important relationship of all – the one you have with yourself.
So if you’re ready to take back control over your mind, body, and soul, if you’re ready to say goodbye to anxiety and stress, check out his genuine advice below.

6) You are confident in your own abilities
The next sign of being hard to read is that you are confident in your own abilities.
People often underestimate the power of a confident person.
Confidence makes you more likely to achieve anything, and it can help you be more assertive in your interactions with other people.
You will be less likely to feel afraid or embarrassed in situations where you feel like you don’t know what to do.
This confidence will also lead to better communication skills and better relationships.
And the best part?
You are confident with who you are and what you are doing, so you don’t need validation or praise from others to feel good about yourself.
In fact, not needing other people’s validation and praise can make it difficult for them to read your mind because they might not know what to say or do in order to get your approval.
If they can’t get your approval, then they might lose confidence in themselves.
This is why it can be hard to read someone who is confident!
7) You do not need someone else to tell you how to behave
Another sign that you are hard to read is that you do not need someone else to tell you how to behave.
You have your own sense of self, and you know what’s right and wrong.
This can be hard for other people to read!
If you are confident in your own abilities, then it can be easy for others to underestimate you and miss out on opportunities.
8) You take the time to understand other people
When you are hard to read, it means that you take the time to understand other people.
You take the time to try and understand their situation, their feelings, and their thoughts.
This is a great sign because it shows that you are truly interested in understanding what they are going through.
It also makes it easier for you to communicate with them.
Other people can be thrown off by this, because, unfortunately, in today’s world, not many people take the time to truly understand others.
They just want to get their own points across, and they might not understand why you are taking so much time to understand them.
It can be difficult for them to read you because they don’t know how to respond.
9) You don’t take things for granted
The next sign that you are hard to read is that you don’t take things for granted.
You know that you have to work hard for what you want in life, so you don’t take things for granted and you don’t expect other people to do things for you.
The best part is that when other people see this, they can be inspired by your hard work, they can get motivated by your success, and they can also learn how to succeed themselves.
However, sometimes people can get confused by your outstanding work ethic and approach to life.
10) You take care of yourself
Last but not least, if you are hard to read, it means that you take care of yourself.
You know what’s best for your body and for your mind, so you do what’s necessary to keep yourself healthy and happy.
You are also aware of the negative aspects of certain “good spiritual practices”.
When it comes to your personal spiritual journey, which toxic habits have you unknowingly picked up?
Is it the need to be positive all the time? Is it a sense of superiority over those who lack spiritual awareness?
Even well-meaning gurus and experts can get it wrong.
The result?
You end up achieving the opposite of what you’re searching for. You do more to harm yourself than to heal.
You may even hurt those around you.
In this eye-opening video, the shaman Rudá Iandé explains how so many of us fall into the toxic spirituality trap. He himself went through a similar experience at the start of his journey.
But with over 30 years of experience in the spiritual field, Rudá now confronts and tackles popular toxic traits and habits.
As he mentions in the video, spirituality should be about empowering yourself. Not suppressing emotions, not judging others, but forming a pure connection with who you are at your core.

Even if you’re well into your spiritual journey, it’s never too late to unlearn the myths you’ve bought for truth!
Once you’ve mastered all this, you respect and love your body above all else, so you treat it the way it deserves to be treated.
The only problem is that other people might not know how to respond to your confidence, which might cause them to get irritated or angry.
Why is it good to be hard to read?
You might be wondering why it’s a good thing to be a person who is hard to read.
Well, the truth is that it’s good because it means that other people can’t really assess what you are going to do next, giving you the element of surprise with everything you do.
It also means that you have a great work ethic, and you have a lot of self-respect.
You take care of yourself and respect your body above all else.
Today, with the internet, a lot of people overshare and are very easy to read right off the bat.
When you go against the grain, you set yourself apart from the rest, making yourself more valuable and desirable!
So, flaunt your personality and be proud of who you are!
