Feminine energy is centered around being intuitive, compassionate and in your flow.

Are you looking to tap into your feminine essence?

Awaken your Divine Feminine with these 10 tips

1) Treat others how you want to be treated

This age-old saying couldn’t be more true when it comes to drawing out your inner goddess.

You get back what you put out – and if you go through the world embodying just a masculine state, you’ll get back this energy.

Don’t know what the masculine energy is?

The masculine energy, Pause Meditation explains, is “molded by logic and reason”.

It’s characterized by being in a state of go, go, go, where you’re laser-focused on achieving and planning. It’s sharp and punchy.

Sure, we all need this energy to exist and to get business done, but we need to balance our masculine and feminine energies to be in flow.

Simply put: if you put out a soothing, empathetic and nourishing energy, you’ll get this back.

A good example of this is in romantic relationships.

I’ll tell you my story:

You see, I treat my partner how I want to be treated.

This includes verbal and physical gestures.

I extend a soothing energy to him and, you guessed it, it’s what he gives me back.

Without telling him, I show him how I want to be treated by my actions. I watch him mirror them.

It could be the way he strokes my arm and hair, or the kind words he says to me.

Consciously try it with your partner and you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

 2) Surround yourself with Divine Feminine Goddess energy

Tap into and strengthen your feminine energy by surrounding yourself with women who truly embody theirs.

Find your tribe of empowered women.

There are so many ways to seek out like-minded women, from going to meditation classes, signing up to online or in-person group workshops, and going to wellness festivals.

In my experience, from these events I’ve joined numerous group chats where we stay in touch, and empower and support each other.

For example, one day someone might share a problem they’re going through and someone will offer support; another day it will be the opposite way around. In these groups we share empowering quotes that have the power to help reframe the small and big things in life.

You can also surround yourself with this divine feminine through social media.

Go through the accounts you follow – ditching those that make you feel bad about yourself, and instead make a point of following accounts that set out to uplift and empower your femininity.

If you’re following spiritual coaches, healers and wellness teachers, you’ll no doubt come across great books and video recommendations from them that will help you on your journey.

Chances are, they’ll also be hosting events and offer a chance for you to become part of a divine feminine community.

Here is where the magic lies.

3) Practice self-love

As important as community is, it’s also essential to practice self-love and self-care in order to tap into your feminine energy.

So how do you go about this?

Begin with yourself. Stop searching for external fixes to sort out your life, deep down, you know this isn’t working.

And that’s because until you look within and unleash your personal power, you’ll never find the satisfaction and fulfillment you’re searching for.

There are also loads of little things that can be done daily that are acts of self-love, allowing you to tap into your feminine energy.

You could start by keeping a gratitude journal where you write down all the things you’re most grateful for in your life.

This list will help you get perspective on all of the wonder around you. It could include:

  • People
  • Situations
  • Opportunities
  • Things about yourself

I’d also suggest writing a letter, but this time specifically addressing it to yourself.

Just like you’d write to a lover, I suggest writing a love letter.

Tell yourself why you love yourself and just how brilliant you are in all aspects of your life. I’d recommend addressing 5 to 10 things initially and to do this every month.

You see, these simple exercises will fill you with happiness and shift you into a state of flow.

Another practice is carving out some ‘me’ time.

It sounds cliche, but there’s a reason for it: it’s so true.

I don’t just mean having a bath and lighting a candle, as great as those things are (and totally what I’d recommend doing regularly).

But I mean, sitting with your emotions and dealing with your inner world.

In my experience, when I’ve felt most overwhelmed, simply stopping and taking some time out for me has always proved to be the answer.

I’ll be honest, there have been times when I’ve done the exact opposite in states of overwhelm because I’ve not been able to sit with the feelings.

I’ve distracted myself with stimulus and lost myself – but, ultimately, I’ve had to come back to myself to be able to work through the issue at hand.

This was especially true with my last break-up. I knew I had to sit by myself, but instead I did everything to run away from it.

Eventually, the Universe forced me to sit with these thoughts and begin processing.

What does this mean for you?

Carving out time for yourself will allow you to address internal issues (which we all have), making it more of a joy to be alive.

In my experience, we’re not able to run forever.

Then, there are a few must-do’s when it comes to self-care that I’m sure you’ve heard all of your life.

It’s true that the simple things are best.

  • Get enough sleep
  • Move your body every day
  • Drink more water
  • Nourish your body with good foods
  • Nourish your soul with kind words

4) Create a soothing living space

You’ve probably heard the saying that a tidy space is a tidy mind.

I like to think of that same idea around femininity.

Now: femininity doesn’t need to mean that everything has to be pink, from your bedsheets to your wallpaper.

But, instead, femininity can be expressed in delicate prints you hang on your wall, celebrating the female form, or from bringing in fresh flowers.

Why not buy yourself that print you’ve been thinking about and sign up for that annual subscription of flowers? Buying beautiful gifts and adorning your space with them is an act of self-care.

You could also bring in crystals to enhance the energy of the room. Rose quartz is a powerful feminine stone that radiates love.

In my experience, keeping my space minimal and tidy equates to a nourishing space.

5) Work with mantras

Mantras, affirmations, positive statements – whatever you call them, repeating statements can have a shifting affect on our lives.

Yogi Approved explains mantras are designed to help us transcend and manifest:

“In yogic terms, “man” means “mind” and “tra” means “to transcend.” So mantras are a way to transcend the mind in a concentrated manner.”

When it comes to tapping into your feminine energy, consider working with mantras that are centered around self-love and empowerment.

These statements could include:

  • I love my beautiful body
  • I love being in my true essence
  • I am perfect just as I am
  • I radiate love

6) Dance like your life depends on it

The power of dancing is underrated.

Moving your body doesn’t have to be a chore or formulaic, but it can be fun and experimental through the power of dance.

It doesn’t have to be in front or with anyone, either.

Put some rock ‘n’ roll on, grab a hairbrush that serves as a microphone and jump around your room, or pick a Latin song and shake your hips in the mirror.

Whatever takes your fancy, get your body moving.

It’s essential to move your physical body so your energetic body doesn’t become stagnant – manifesting as bad moods and even depression.

Katelyn at Yogi Approved agrees and explains why dance is her preferred mode of movement. She writes:

“Dance is my favorite way to release stagnant energy as it brings in the divine feminine aspects of movement, intuition, and creative self-expression – all ways to ignite your Inner Goddess.”

Just like anything we want to get done in life, schedule some time in your calendar dedicated to moving.

You know as well as I that nothing gets done if we don’t allocate the time.

It’s discipline – a masculine energy we need to call on – that will give us the structure to ensure we make time for our pursuits.

After a while, it will become second nature.

Now: it could be the same time every day or mixed up between morning, noon and evening.

Most important, make sure you stick to giving yourself this time and have fun with it!

7) Get creative

By now, you should have grasped that feminine energy is all about being in that state of flow.

This means, resistance drops away and you’re in an effortless state.

Life in this space is softer, slower and more relaxed.

Personally, I can’t think of a better time to get creative and to practice self-expression.

Think about all of the things you love doing just for pleasure – perhaps those things you say you don’t have enough time for or don’t see as the most important things in your life.

It could be activities like:

  • Writing poetry
  • Making ceramics
  • Playing an instrument
  • Choreographing a dance

Choose an activity that’s just for pleasure.

Maybe these activities won’t earn you any money, but that’s not what they’re about. Avoid trying to make a hobby you pick up a side-hustle, and enjoy the activities for the creativity they bring to your life.

As if that’s not enough, Katelyn at Yogi Approved explains:

“Creation is such a feminine concept and connecting to your creative self allows you to practice giving and receiving with the universe.”

So see creativity as a spiritual practice, and as a means of allowing you to be in the state of receiving and attracting what you really want in life.

Use it as a tool to manifest what you want in life.

Do you know what you want to manifest in life?

8) Let someone care for you

On their blog, Yireh note that:

“Feminine energy is about receiving and opening, so even if you’re a natural giver, you need to make sure you’re filling up your own reserve”.

What does that mean for you?

In practical terms, it means you have others care for you without feeling guilty or undeserving.

This could mean booking a full body Ayurvedic massage, having a reiki energy healing session or having someone cook you dinner.

Allow yourself to be in the state of receiving and accept these offers with grace, without feeling bad about it for whatever reason.

Of course, there will be an energy exchange where you pay the massage or reiki therapist for their time and thank them, plus you’ll extend gratitude to a friend or partner for cooking you dinner and possibly get up to do the dishes.

But what’s most important is that you genuinely feel worthy and deserving of what’s been given to you, and you enjoy every second!

9) Allow yourself a break

We hear this a lot in all aspects of your life.

You see, it’s because we’re programmed to work ourselves to the bone in our Western capitalist societies.

Taking a break doesn’t come naturally for a lot of us – and we can often feel like we’re failures for not being on the grind.

Does this resonate?

In my own experience, it’s difficult for me to peel myself away from my laptop and to not be producing work of some kind. I often feel like there’s so much to do and I’m falling behind if I’m not plugging away night and day.

But I also know the damage this can do and the burn out that usually follows.

I’ve had to take time off in the past for being so exhausted and, well, it’s not worth it.

It’s not sustainable working around-the-clock and so it’s important to make sure we’re carving out breaks from our daily routines to refresh.

Taking a break doesn’t mean switching from your laptop to your phone or sorting out bills to fill the time, it means taking a break from what you’re doing entirely and finding stillness.

Allow yourself to be present with your thoughts and still for 10 minutes.

In case you might be asking yourself – 10 minutes?

Yep, this is all you need to allow yourself to drop into the feminine of relaxation.

10) Practice compassion

I’ve already spoken about self-love, but that’s just one side of the story when it comes to compassion.

Compassion is such an important emotion that you need to have for both yourself and those around you if you truly want to be in your feminine essence.

It means being understanding, tolerant and sympathetic.

Simply put: don’t be so hard on yourself and others.

Give yourself and others a break.

Understand that past experiences have shaped the opinions you and others hold, and remember that we all have baggage to work through.

You see, before you call yourself or someone else an idiot for getting something wrong, you’ll benefit from taking a second to pause and send compassion.

Why? It sends a signal to the universe that’s saying you’re understanding and kind, and in a higher vibration.
