How to reach your subconscious mind while awake: 14 effective methods

Do you feel that there is a hidden part of your psyche that you can’t see or touch?

That’s right! Your subconscious mind is the hidden depths of your inner self. It’s the place where all your emotions, memories, and instincts are stored.

But reaching into your subconscious mind can reveal all things you don’t always have conscious access to.

Are you wondering how it’s possible?

Let’s take a look at 14 effective methods that will help you dive deeper into yourself and reach your subconscious mind.

1) Start your day with morning rituals

Let’s begin with a question.

Do you have any particular rituals for the morning or the end of the day?

It could be something like taking a warm shower, eating breakfast, reading a book, or listening to your favorite music.

You can also consider morning or evening meditation as one of the rituals.

If your answer is positive, then there’s a good chance you can contribute to reaching your unconscious mind.

Why?

Here’s the thing:

By doing these things every day, you are subconsciously programming yourself to feel a certain way.

For example, when you take a warm shower in the morning, your brain associates this feeling with being awake and alert. That’s why it’s easier for you to get things done after taking a shower.

If you make sure that your morning ritual is consistent and effective, it will have positive effects on your life! It will help you achieve your goals faster and easier!

Before you engage in any other activity, start your day with a set of morning rituals.

These are a set of consistent practices that you can include in your daily life.

These may include:

  • A morning walk or jog – helps you to ease your mind and body after a long night. A morning walk or jog is the best way to ease your mind and body after a long night.
  • Meditation – meditating in the morning is a great way to focus your attention and get your day started on the right foot. You can meditate in a group or on your own.
  • Writing a journal entry – journaling is a great way to reflect and clear your mind of all the stress or negativity that you encountered the previous day. You can write about any emotions or thoughts that you’re currently experiencing.
  • Reading a self-help book – reading a self-help book is a great way to get your mind ready for the day and get focused on the activities that you have planned.

2) Meditate and breathe deeply

Did you know that meditating and breathing exercises can help you reach your subconscious mind?

While you’re meditating, focus all your attention on your breath.

You can close your eyes or keep them open, whichever is most comfortable for you. If your attention wanders, don’t get frustrated; just bring your focus back to your breath again.

But how can you meditate if you’ve never tried meditating before?

Well, all you need to do is to close your eyes and focus on your breath.

Meditation helps you connect with your subconscious mind. It helps you relax and focus on the present. It allows you to let go of all the stress and negativity so that you can have a clear mind!

But how is this connected to your subconscious mind?

The subconscious mind is the part of your mind that controls all of your body’s functions. It’s the part of your brain that you don’t have control over.

It also stores all of your thoughts, emotions, and memories. Since it’s the part of your brain that you can’t control, it needs to be trained so that it can do what you want it to do!

This means that meditation can help you train your subconscious mind!

All you need to do is to focus on your breath while meditating. The more time you spend on this activity, the better results you get! You will feel relaxed and focused after meditating.

This gives you a chance to control how your body feels and reacts!

Keep in mind that many types of meditation exist today. However, all of them have the same goal – to help you achieve a deep state of relaxation and peace!

Now you probably wonder how you can start.

The best way to meditate is by practicing it every day for 30 minutes or more. You can meditate in any position: sitting cross-legged or standing up with your eyes closed and hands on your knees, etc.

3) Think out of the box

Ever tried to think of solutions to life’s problems out of the box?

If you are facing a problem at work or you are having a difficult time finding a solution, try thinking outside of the box.

This means that you need to think outside of your comfort zone!

Usually, we tend to rely on existing norms instead of finding new solutions. But believe it or not, thinking out of the box is the way to reach your subconscious mind easily.

The truth is, most of us never realize how much power and potential lies within us.

We become bogged down by continuous conditioning from society, the media, our education system, and more.

The result?

The reality we create becomes detached from the reality that lives within our consciousness.

I learned this (and much more) from the world-renowned shaman Rudá Iandé. In this excellent free video, Rudá explains how you can lift the mental chains and get back to the core of your being.

A word of caution – Rudá isn’t your typical shaman.

He doesn’t paint a pretty picture or sprouts toxic positivity like so many other gurus do.

Instead, he’s going to force you to look inwards and confront the demons within. It’s a powerful approach, but one that works.

So if you’re ready to take this first step and align your dreams with your reality, there’s no better place to start than with Rudá’s unique technique.

4) Write your goals down and speak them aloud

Can I be totally honest with you?

Sometimes, doubting your ability to achieve a goal is the main reason you fail to achieve it.

The truth is, if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will. That’s why it’s important to write down your goals and speak them aloud every day.

Looking into your subconscious mind can be very helpful when you want to increase your productivity and motivation.

To reach your subconscious mind, get your pen and paper ready.

You can also use your electronic device as a computer.

When you write your goals and dreams down, you are activating the left hemisphere of your brain. This helps you become more aware of the goals that you want to achieve.

Here are some reasons why

  • Writing your goals down makes them real and keeps them at the forefront of your mind.
  • Speaking aloud gives you the motivation and confidence to keep moving forward towards achieving your goals.
  • Writing down your goals makes it easier for you to dream big and achieve anything!

And guess what?

That way, you can find ways to reach your subconscious mind.

5) Use affirmations and visualizations

Another helpful way to reach your subconscious mind is through the use of affirmations and visualizations.

Simply put, an affirmation is a positive statement that you repeat to yourself over and over again in order to change your beliefs.

Visualization involves using your imagination to create a mental picture of what you want to achieve. The more vividly you can imagine it, the better.

They can help you focus your attention on something specific. And this specific goal can reach your subconscious mind.

Both are great methods to help you reach your subconscious mind, but they each have their own benefits.

Affirmations are a good choice if you struggle with confidence and self-esteem. They help you reprogram your thoughts so that you can reach your full potential.

On the other hand, visualizations are a good choice if you have a specific goal that you want to accomplish. You can use visualization to help you focus on the end result that you want to achieve.

So, if you want to dive into your subconscious, try using affirmations and visualizations.

6) Exercise regularly and try Tai Chi

Are you into physical activities?

If you are, then you already know that exercise helps you stay fit and healthy.

But did you know that it can also help you reach your subconscious mind?

The truth is that physical activities like Tai Chi can help ease your mind and relax your body. This will allow you to reach your subconscious mind more easily.

When it comes to exercise, the best results come from doing something that you enjoy.

Doing something that is fun to do will make it easier for you to stick with a regular routine. And this will give your mind the relaxation it needs to reach its full potential.

In other words, physical exercise is a great way to reach your subconscious mind.

You can try activities like yoga, Tai Chi, walking, or running.

All of these activities will help you to relax your mind and release any negative emotions that are blocking your thoughts.

Here’s how it works:

When you are relaxed, your subconscious mind is more open to receiving new information and thoughts.

The result?

You’ll easily dive into your subconscious mind and tap into its full potential.

7) Free your mind from unwanted thoughts

Now let’s introduce another powerful way to reach your subconscious mind.

But before that, I want you to think about something else:

When it comes to your personal spiritual journey, which toxic habits have you unknowingly picked up?

Is it the need to be positive all the time? Is it a sense of superiority over those who lack spiritual awareness?

Even well-meaning gurus and experts can get it wrong.

The result is that you end up achieving the opposite of what you’re searching for. You do more to harm yourself than to heal.

You may even hurt those around you.

In this eye-opening video, the shaman Rudá Iandé explains how so many of us fall into the toxic spirituality trap. He himself went through a similar experience at the start of his journey.

As he mentions in the video, spirituality should be about empowering yourself. Not suppressing emotions, not judging others, but forming a pure connection with who you are at your core.

If this is what you’d like to achieve, click here to watch the free video.

Even if you’re well into your spiritual journey, it’s never too late to unlearn the myths you’ve bought for truth!

8) An artistic endeavor of your choice

Have you ever tried to express your feelings through art?

You may have drawn, painted, or written.

Have you ever had a painting on your wall?

It could be a picture or a drawing of something that means a lot to you.

Or it could be something abstract, like the image above.

But I’m going to suggest something different now: an artistic endeavor of your choice. I think it’s time for you to start doing what you love and what makes you happy!

The truth is that expression through art is a great way to reach your subconscious mind.

When you’re expressing yourself through art, you are not focused on solving problems or other stressful thoughts.

You’re focused solely on the creative process and creating something beautiful.

That’s why you should try painting or draw in a messy space, where you won’t mind making a mess.

The result will be that your subconscious mind will become more open to receiving new information and thoughts. And this will help you reach your fullest potential in life.

9) Journaling and self-reflection

Okay, now you might think that you’re not really good at art. But guess what?

Drawing isn’t the only form of art that you can use to reach your subconscious mind.

Journaling can also do the same thing.

When you write down your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, you’re letting your subconscious mind know that you’re ready to receive new information.

And this is why journaling is a great way to unblock yourself from unwanted thoughts and feelings.

It’s not about getting rid of negative emotions or thoughts from your mind, it’s about making room for new ones!

Self-reflection can also help you become more aware of what’s going on around you. And this will help you become a more conscious person in general.

You’ll be able to see things from different perspectives, and this will help you make better decisions in life

In simple words, journaling is a great way to reflect on your life and work and uncover the answers to questions that you may have about yourself and your purpose.

It’s also a great way to write about your emotions, share stories, and express yourself without worrying about making mistakes.

For example: “I feel frustrated because I’m not being paid as much as I’m worth.”  Or: “I feel so overwhelmed by my responsibilities at work that I don’t even want to go out of the house.”

When you write these types of things down in a journal or an online diary, they will become part of your consciousness. And over time, they’ll start influencing the way you think and act in the world around you.

This is why journaling is such an important tool for personal development!

10) Doodle to de-stressing music

Similarly to the previous method, this one can also help you de-stress and stop your mind from wandering.

When you come home after a long and stressful day, doodling while listening to de-stressing music is a great way to reach your subconscious mind.

Pick up your favorite type of art and some crayons or pencils.

Create shapes and patterns while listening to soothing music.

Now all you need to do is start drawing.

Although, this time, you don’t have to be so creative because the purpose of this exercise is to keep your mind focused on something other than thoughts or feelings.

So, let’s say that you have a piece of paper and an idea in your head about a problem that you’re going through currently in life. So, what do you think is the best way to help yourself?

Practicing doodling to de-stressing music will soon show you that you have a lot of creative energy inside of you. And this is where the power of positive thinking comes into play.

When you’re doodling and drawing, your mind will start to be more receptive to new ideas and solutions that can help you solve whatever problem you’re facing at the moment.

And before you know it, you’ll start coming up with new ideas that are more effective than those that came before them—this is the power of positive thinking!

And most importantly, it will help you connect to your inner self and reach your wound, which is the ultimate goal of this exercise.

11) Write your goals down

Have you already determined your specific goals to achieve in life?

If not, you should do it now. Because if you don’t have them already, you’ll never know what’s stopping you from reaching them.

To be honest, this is one of the most important steps in reaching your subconscious mind.

The power of writing things down is immense. When you write, you’re putting them on paper and on the screen. And if they’re written down, they’re real. They can be manipulated by other people, but they’re still there!

So, when you write your goals down in a journal or on a piece of paper at home, you’re making them real for yourself and for others to see as well. And this helps you to reach your subconscious mind more easily than expected.

This is why writing things down is so important!

12) Pause using social media

And finally, the last step to reaching your subconscious mind is to cut off all social media.

The only reason I’m telling you this is that if you can get rid of all social media, it will be easier for you to reach your subconscious mind.

It’s like going back in time to the 90s or 2000s when there were no smartphones or the internet at all. In those times, life was much simpler and easier to live. It was more enjoyable!

Today, we have to deal with all these distractions that are keeping us from reaching our subconscious minds.

And it’s not just the phones that are causing us problems; it’s also the people we meet through social media that are keeping us from reaching our goals in life.

You see, when you’re hanging out with people on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.), there’s always someone who’s posting a photo of themselves having fun or being happy about something on their profile every day.

And if they’re not doing this every day- they’re probably doing it at least once a week- then they’re probably talking to someone else who is posting a photo of themselves having fun or being happy about something on their profile every day as well!

Thinking about all of these doesn’t allow you to think for yourself. But thinking for yourself is crucial to each of your subconscious minds.

That’s why you should try to get rid of all social media so that you can focus more on reaching your goals in life and getting in touch with your subconscious mind.

Final thoughts

To sum up, there are many things you can do to reach your subconscious mind and get in touch with your inner self.

But regardless of the way you decide to use it, you should keep in mind that it should always be done in a positive, helpful, and constructive way.

If you’re doing it for selfish reasons, then you’re not doing it right.

So remember: you’re trying to reach your subconscious mind so that you can achieve all of the things you want in life, not just reach some arbitrary goals that have nothing to do with your life.

As for what to do next, check out Justin Brown’s video below on the benefits of doing nothing. He discusses how doing nothing can help you to connect with your subconscious mind in a powerful way.
